Civil Ceremony at Vrtbovska Garden (27.08.09) and a photo session in the Prague Castle gardens and in front of Rudolfinum.
In March of 2009, my husband and I became engaged, we decided to plan our wedding in Chicago Illinois during November 2009, and however what we preferred in location was booked until the winter of 2010. We wanted a beautiful place, and we wanted to be stress free, so we agreed to elope in Europe. We had no idea what part of Europe would be the best place until we did some research and discovered that Prague was one of the most beautiful romantic scenic cities in Europe. Also, there were fewer requirements than in any other European cities, and we could actually get married in four weeks.
On June 12, we began researching what we needed in order to have a wedding in Prague. We soon realized that we needed to hire a wedding agency, by account of, we never been to Prague, and we had limited knowledge of the laws in Czech Republic. After looking at a variety of wedding agencies in Prague, we decided to hire Velvet Wedding agency because their prices were reasonable, they immediately responded to our emails, they answered all of our questions, and they made us feel secure that we were making the right decision in hiring them.
When we arrived in Prague, August 2009, our wedding planners Dalibor and Vladimir kept in contact with us; they assisted us with our requests and answered all of our questions. They took us step by step through the Prague marriage laws, and they helped us complete all of the necessary documents. Furthermore, they were professional individuals who made us feel at ease and secure from the moment we met them. In addition, they provided us with extra services such as photographer, video, and limousine service, and they secured our ceremony location at Vrtbovska Zahrada Garden. Our photographer was excellent, creative, and professional; our pictures look like we were posing for a fashion magazine. The location was absolutely superb, and we loved the video. Velvet wedding agency made our day completely stress free and wonderful. Thanks so very much Dalibor and Vladimir, we will be visiting Prague very soon and we hope to see you, Na zdravi.

Making the decision about where we wanted to have our wedding was difficult for us. We wanted to go somewhere that had a special feel and was unique. A place that captures the imagination and makes making memories easy. Prague has the modesty, traditions and history to make it the perfect match.
The hospitality at the wedding is just as important as the location. As the groom, I did not want to worry about cold food, busy traffic, or problems with my marriage certificate. My wife and I wanted to enjoy the occasion and for that reason chose to acquire professional wedding planning from the Velvet Wedding Agency. The decision turned out to be excelent one. The wedding planners took care of all the legal problems and details of the ceremony, and only required that we show up one day before the wedding. That first day we signed all our papers and the next day was the wedding. We went straight into our honeymoon.
I would recommend the Velvet Wedding Agency to anyone who wants to enjoy their wedding while minimizing what could be an extremely stressful process. I have confidence in the quality of the Velvet Wedding Agency's service because I have experienced it myself.

Religious ceremony at St. Nicholas Church, Old Town Square, Prague 1 (18.07.09)
As a foreigner here in Czech Republic, I wanted to plan a wedding day as lavish and beautiful as in my dreams but also within a certain budget. Having researched the internet for the best packages I found that my lack of spoken Czech was working against me, I needed some sort of middle man and Velvet Weddings were exactly that. They took the time to get to know what I wanted and met with me several times and were more than hands on in their approach in assisting me make my magic day happen. Vladimir even filled in for my husband when it came to cake tasting, and helped me get the perfect hairdresser while I was lost in translation.
Both Dalibor and Vladimir handled my wedding from beginning to end like it was their own, suffering the highs and lows with me but with razor sharp professionalism and a ready smile. They handled my bridezilla moments with panache and painstaking patience. I would recommend Velvet weddings to anyone who is looking for a helping hand when navigating the daunting task of getting married here in Prague

Civil Ceremony Hluboka nad Vltavou (11.04.09) followed by reception in Hotel Stekl.
Caroline and I spent a long time choosing the location for our wedding, as well as the services that we needed to make our special day go smoothly in a country which we love but with a language that we struggle with. The research we did paid off as we found Hluboka castle and Velvet Wedding Agency. A combination that meant a perfect day for us and our guests.
As soon as we contacted Velvet Weddings they provided us with a comprehensive quotation and a helpful professional service. They were friendly, humorous and obliging in all the arrangements that would have been impossible for us to do on our own. Vladimir and Dalibor worked beyond all our expectations from the outset. They communicated with us whilst we were in England ensuring that we were kept aware of everything that was required and that our papers were processed effectively, safely and securely.
Then they came to meet with us in Hluboka to go through the paper work and liaise with the matrika, castle and hotel a few days before the wedding. They put our minds at ease through the whole process, offering us additional help for anything we may have left in England, or additionally needed on the day (luckily the weather in April was as fantastic as everything else so we didn't need emergency umberellas).
On the day of the wedding Vladimir was there to ensure everything went according to plan and for us it did. If there were any hiccups we weren't aware of them, we just enjoyed our day. They took all the stress out of organising a wedding abroad and meant that we could appreciate the day fully and start our married life together in a perfect way.
We would recommend Velvet Wedding Agency to anybody!

Civil ceremony at the Old Town Hall, Prague 1 (5.12.08)
Catherine and I had set our minds on a small intimate wedding in the beautiful city of Prague, which was a special place for us that we had visited before. This was rather than a full-blown (and expensive) traditional service at home, which was not what either of us wanted.
We researched what was needed to make a foreign marriage official under UK law and whilst it looked achievable there were many different aspects that would have to be arranged.
A lot of these were simple admin issues, but with the complication of arranging many of these in a foreign country with neither of us speaking much (any!) Czech, we were pleased to see that Velvet Weddings were able to take on all of this on our behalf.
What we didn't expect was that we would be able to be married in such a fantastic venue as the old Town Hall, and that the team at VW would be able to take on all of the Czech-based arrangements for us. It was also a real surprise when they quoted us for the complete package as the price was really great value.
To have been able to be married in such a historic venue, with a simple but intimate and very special service, with the team at VW on hand throughout - taking photographs for us and arranging flowers (which were beautiful) and transport to and from the venue and even arranging our accomodation whilst we were in the city, has left us with memories of a very special day and we can only recommend them to anyone else considering doing the same, but perhaps being worried about how to arrange such a thing.
They really handled everything from start to finish and all we had to do was turn up at the airport on time!

Religious ceremony at Bertramka, Prague 5 (18.10.08) and a photo session in front of the Prague Castle and Rudolfinum
Efficient, reliable and knowledgeable. These are the 3 words that describe the services of Velvet-weddings. Our case was very complicated due to different nationalities and availability of certain required documents. We would not have managed to do it ourselves. Dalibor and Vladimir managed a miracle in two short months and took the stress out of the whole organization.
We appreciated the fact that they were knowledgeable regarding their work and gave ideas on alternatives which was a major issue in our case. The fact they they are friendly and humorous is also a great plus.
In addition, everything was explained in detail regarding the costs and there were no hidden extras. We even received a credit on paperwork that turned out cheaper than expected. Very unusual and surprising in Czech Republic.
We highly recommend their services and the investment is worth every crown!

Protestant Blessing in the St. Nicholas' Church at the Old Town square (26.7.08)
Dear Vladimir, Dalibor and the entire Velvet Team!
My husband and I want to express our gratitude for the services that we have received throughout the entire process of our wedding arrangement. You have been very patient to our demands and fulfilled all of them to the best, considering the difficulties connected with the differences in time zones, long distance and extraordinary circumstances when the flight to Prague was delayed. We appreciated you being flexible with meetings, as well as prompt with detailed information. You were always pleasant even when you had to come to our hotel very late at night, rearrange the entire ceremony, deal with the pastor, and even paid for the parking when we didn’t have local money. Thank you for the constant communication, and the most important – for keeping our expenses to the minimum! We definitely will recommend you to our friends should they decide to have their “big day” in Prague.
May God bless you and your godly business!

Vladimir and Dalibor did an amazing job for us! They are very professional and always on time answering all our questions and inquiries regarding our papers. At the beginning we were not sure if we could get married after only a short time of preparation (especially when we are both foreigners living in Prague and soon to leave in a fews weeks). They really did an excellent job by reserving the date we would like to be wed and where.. And now that we are happy married!:-) We would like to highly recommend their services to our fellow expats here in Prague.
Cheers, Elaine and Thomas.

Civil ceremony in the Old Town Hall (3.7.07) and a Blessing in the St Clement's Church (New Town - 7.7.07), Reception at the Troja chateau, almost 200 guests
Velvet did an absolutely tremendous job planning and organising our wedding. It is no exaggeration to say that without them, we could not have had our wedding in the form and on the date we had intended. A wedding involves a tremendous amount of bureaucracy, especially if, as in our case, bride and groom have a combined total of five citizenships and live in a sixth country, Japan. This required a lot of co-ordination between the various embassies and authorities in the relevant countries, and without Velvet's very creative help and last minute interventions we would not have secured all relevant documents on time. If they were able to manage our situation, they could manage anything!
All wedding preparations Velvet helped us with were impeccable. The organisation on the day was flawless, even though it involved 200 guests, a church service, a boat ride and a wedding party at a chateau. Throughout the planning stage and on the day, we were very impressed with Lubor's, Vladimir's and Dalibor's professional, friendly and relaxed attitude. They have contributed to making our special day perfect and we recommend them very highly.
